This week, a cooling temperature trend begins. After getting to around 80 today, we will hit 60 by the end of the week. Currently, it is 63 degrees and partly cloudy in Leesburg. Some thunderstorms were passing through parts of the area earlier today and some of them are continuing to form and impact some areas. Current radar image is below, with the orange marking a Severe Thunderstorm just east of Baltimore.

Storms will end across the area by 11pm tonight and then give way to some partly cloudy skies. The low will be around 52. Tomorrow (Monday) will be mostly sunny with a high around 67 and low around 47. The low pressure system to our north could cause some light rain showers to form in spots in the late afternoon and evening. They will be fairly brief and won’t cause any impacts. Tuesday will be another good day with partly sunny conditions and a high around 64. The low will be around 49 with partly cloudy skies. No rain for Tuesday but the rain chances return for Wednesday. Another low pressure system will bring some unsettled weather. Wednesday will mainly be mostly cloudy with chances for some showers. The high will be around 62 and the low around 48. Rain will mainly start in the late afternoon and continue through the evening. Thursday we will dry out a bit as the sun returns, but it will still be chilly. The high will only be around 58, possibly higher up to around 60, depending on how far the warm air can get past the low to our north, with a low around 42. Thursday night will be partly cloudy.

Friday, the temperature should begin to get back up a bit, but model guidance varies widely right now. Depending on when the upper low to our north leaves, the temperature may be stuck in the 50s for a day or two. Currently, it seems the high could break 60 before rising again for next weekend once the low departs.

Across the country, pretty quiet. Some storms and showers in our area as well as Florida, some windy weather in the north, and a late winter storm in Alaska. My next post for the weekend will be posted on Friday evening.
