Happy Easter everyone! It was a beautiful sunny day today with highs in the mid-70s, above forecasted highs. Currently, it is 64 degrees with clear skies in Leesburg. This week looks to have more chances for unsettled weather, with possible rain showers many times this week. Overall, it isn’t looking too bad, but temperatures will be in the high-60s/low-70s for multiple days this week.

Tonight, temperatures will dip down into the 40s by the time you wake up tomorrow, with a forecasted low of 40. Tomorrow (Monday) will be mostly sunny with a high around 70 and light winds. Another great day like today. There is the possibility of some scattered light rain showers on Monday night with a low around 49, but any amount of precipitation will be low. A frontal boundary will dictate the weather on Tuesday. Exact placement of the boundary will determine the temperature swing which could range from 50s to 70s. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a forecasted high of 67 and Tuesday’s night low will be around 52. Due to the front passing through, there is a slight chance of showers once again on Tuesday.

Wednesday is very similar to Tuesday, except clouds will clear up and it will be partly sunny. The high will be around 71 and low around 52. Clouds will build later in the evening leading to mostly cloudy skies during the night. Because of the warmth, there is another possibility for some stray showers and even the possible thunderstorm during the day. Thursday will also be partly sunny with a high around 66 and low around 51. A low from the west will pass through the area bringing some steadier rain showers starting Thursday night and continuing throughout the day on Friday. Friday will be otherwise mostly cloudy when it is not raining. The high will be around 62 and the low around 52.

So, not a *fantastic* week but not an awful week by any means. This is usually how spring is in the area, some temperature swings week by week, and some days where it is raining most of the day while otherwise it is mostly sunny. If you’re looking for more warmth, it will be here before you know it in just a few months, maybe a couple of weeks, which is when thunderstorm season will really begin.

My next post will be on Friday evening where I will cover the forecast for the weekend.
