Another work week is upon us…hopefully everyone was able to do some fun things outdoors while the weather was nice! This week will be HOT and sunny! Currently, it is 87 degrees in Leesburg with mostly sunny skies. Tonight, expect some scattered showers/thunderstorms across northern parts of the area. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 73.

Severe Thunderstorm Watches to our north and west; some storms may clip northernmost areas

Tomorrow (Monday) will be sunny with a high around 95 and a low around 73. It will be pretty hot and humid so there will be a potential for thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening practically everyday, as the atmosphere will be unstable. Monday night will otherwise be partly cloudy. Tuesday will be sunny as well with a high around 94 and a low around 73. Once again, there are chances for thunderstorms in the afternoon, otherwise partly cloudy skies. Wednesday has a higher chance for some rain showers and thunderstorms, but also expect mostly sunny skies. High pressure will dominate over the region leading to some more storm activity. The high will be around 89 and the low will be around 70.

Thursday and Friday will also be sunny with highs in the mid-90s. Thursday will have a high around 91 and a low around 72, while Friday will have a high around 95 and a low around 73. Next weekend, some more chances for showers and thunderstorms, but again we will get more sunny skies. If we ever get a multi-day rain event or cloudy days, just remember that we would have had weeks of sunny days to get outside, so use and enjoy them!

Looking to the tropics, nothing really happening. Quiet as a mouse. Across the country however, the West receives more heat and scorching temperatures, while rain and storms affect our area and points north and east.

My next post for the weekend will be available on Friday afternoon.
