It’s time for another summer weekend! This past week, there were storms that popped up everyday over the area giving some places an inch or two of rain. Here in Leesburg, we got over 2 inches of rain from a storm on Wednesday! Tropical Storm Elsa also passed to our east earlier today and yesterday, before quickly moving up the East Coast. Currently, it is 77 in Leesburg and partly cloudy, and while there are no storms here at the moment, there are some to our north and east that will make their way further east to the coast.

Tonight, storms will clear out entirely across the area giving way to partly cloudy skies. The low will be around 64. Tomorrow (Saturday) will be mostly sunny with a high around 85 and low around 68. Low humidity will allow for a great day, and a warm front will begin to move through in the evening. A lingering is shower is possible but overall no severe weather. Saturday evening will bring some clouds as the front moves through, but Sunday will be overall partly sunny. A high around 89 and low around 73 is expected. The heat index will be in the 90s so it would be a perfect pool day! However, there is a greater chance for some severe weather to develop in the afternoon and evening because of the heat. Storms shouldn’t last super long, but be prepared for any warnings. Some showers are possible across the area Sunday night as remnants of any storms from earlier, but no major risks are expected.

Monday will be even warmer with mostly sunny skies and a high around 91. The rest of the week will be similar to Monday with highs in the low 90s and sunny skies. Because it will be so warm there is a possibility for thunderstorms everyday in the afternoon/evening hours.

My next post for the week ahead will be released on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.
